Kendall Kennedy
Artist Statement
Kendall Kennedy is an interdisciplinary artist based in Davis, California. Born and raised in Mint Hill North Carolina Kennedy’s newest body of work is concerned with past temporalities. Their work captures a feeling of eerie nostalgia. Interested in the concept of time capsules, Kennedy uses a collection of materials including paintings, family photos, audio, found materials, and ink as a method of time travel. Through their work they are forging connections with lost memories of childhood. Specific items of interest include: doors, windows, hallways, cd players, and children’s toys. Kennedy believes that anything can hold memory.
Kennedy is a senior at the University of California, Davis where they are obtaining a BA in Art Studio with a minor in Art History. Apart from their work as an artist Kennedy is also the Gallery Director and Lead Curator of Third Space Arts Collective in Davis, California.
